My Story!

Hello! My name is Kate Schroeder and I am a potter and working artist in Kansas City, Missouri. I received a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Sculpture and Ceramics from the University of Central Missouri and a Masters of Fine Arts also emphasizing Sculpture and Ceramics from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.  In addition to my career as a professional artist, I am also a teacher, and manager in the arts. My full time gig is that of Program Manager and lead teacher for Accessible Arts, a Kansas City non-profit arts organization specializing in teaching art to people with disabilities. I am also the manager and an instructor at EPIC Clay Studio, an all inclusive ceramics studio that is open to all people of all ability levels in Strawberry Hill. In addition to managing and teaching for non-profits, I am also an Adjunct Professor at and Kansas City Kansas Community College and at the Kansas City Art Institute. It is my belief that there is nothing better in this world than using my hands to make art, drink coffee, and pet my cat. Have a beautiful day!
